CARMEN PORTER

As a self-taught artist, Carmen Porter’s paintings are an expression of her perception of nature, with luminous brush strokes. As a way to fulfill her creative expression, Carmen uses an approach to layer acrylic paints on canvas to depict the Canadian landscape with a focus on nature’s natural surroundings. Carmen's passion to create art was instilled at a young age and she continues to enroll in workshops to continuously learn and follow her artistic endeavours. 

 Each piece Carmen creates has a specific narrative, and she aspires to capture a sense of peace and tranquility in her landscape and floral paintings. Carmen resides in Ottawa and as an avid outdoor enthusiast, she is actively skiing, biking or hiking with her family in her spare time.
